“I Wish I Could’ve Taken Back”: Ryan Fitzpatrick Backtracks After Calling Bo Nix “Disrespectful to the QB Position”
Ryan Fitzpatrick says he stands by his critique of Bo Nix but wishes he’d phrased it differently, after Nix drew heat against Seattle. Ryan Fitzpatrick, an analyst for Prime Video, initially criticized the Denver Broncos' Bo Nix's play as "almost disrespectful to the quarterback position" following the team's overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks. The comment was met with strong backlash and Fitzpatrick now regrets his original criticism. Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards, four yards per attempt, and the Broncos punted on six straight second-half drives. However, the team still won thanks to Sam Darnold's overtime interception. NIX's passing numbers have been a concern this season, with his average air yards per attempted standing at 4.9, the lowest mark among 701 qualified quarterback seasons over the past 20 years. The Broncos finished their overtime win with just 168 yards of offense, the fewest ever by a team in an NFL game won in overtime.
